Real Projects, Real Transformations!

There is nothing quite like a before and after that completely changes the look and feel of a kitchen, especially when the splashback is the feature that ties everything together. These four recent projects each had their own brief but the goal was the same: to create a space our clients love living in.

Recent Before and After Projects We Love!

From bold statements to subtle elegance, these transformations show just how much personality and functionality the right splashback can bring to a kitchen. For the people who spend time in these spaces every day, the difference is more than just visual. It changes how the kitchen feels to cook, gather and live in.

Digital Printed Glass Splashback in Parkwood

This renovation project was designed around one show-stopping element, a custom digitally printed glass splashback in a cloudy blue marbled design. Against a sleek palette of black and white cabinetry, the splashback takes centre stage and becomes a piece of art in its own right.

We brought the design to life on low-iron toughened glass, ensuring every swirl of colour was crisp and true without the green tint of standard glass. The finish is smooth, highly resistant to heat, stains and everyday marks so it looks spectacular without needing constant upkeep. The couple who live here love that it is both beautiful and easy to maintain, proving a splashback can be stylish and practical.

Digitally printed splashbacks are a great option to showcase a favourite photograph, add a bold pattern or create a completely unique feature wall. At DGW, we use A-grade toughened safety glass that meets Australian Standards, so your splashback is not only visually stunning, but also highly heat and stain resistant. The smooth surface also resists mould, grime and water spots, meaning it will stay looking its best with minimal effort.

Porcelain Splashback in Edgewater

In this Edgewater kitchen, the brief was to refresh the benchtop and splashback without undertaking a full renovation. The existing tiles and benchtop were replaced with a smooth, large-format porcelain surface in Tivoli White from Lusso Group.

The same porcelain surface was used for both the splashback and benchtops, creating a seamless, refined finish with no visual breaks. This instantly brightened and elevated the space, making it feel luxurious and modern. With the busy tiles and overpowering black benchtop now replaced by a clean, neutral backdrop, there is more freedom for this homeowner to introduce new design elements and styling choices that reflect their personal taste.

Porcelain was specifically chosen for this kitchen upgrade due to its versatility and durability. For a kitchen that sees regular use and needs to be easily maintained, it’s the perfect choice. A quick wipe over is all that’s needed to keep their new benchtop and splashback in pristine condition, while the materials strength ensures it can withstand high heat, stains and frequent cleaning

Dark Mirror Splashback in Darch

We love using dark mirror in the right setting. It has a way of adding both depth and light to a kitchen, as it did here in Darch. This splashback finished with a Low E reflective coating brings a moody elegance that pairs beautifully with the white cabinetry and pale benchtops.

The reflective surface bounces light around the room, making it feel larger and more inviting while the smoky tones add drama and sophistication. It is also wonderfully practical, easy to clean and built to handle the demands of everyday cooking and entertaining.

Ceramic Splashback in Greenwood

This kitchen already had a lovely grey and white scheme so we chose to elevate it rather than replace it. The marbled ceramic splashback from Laminam’s Naturali Collection in Diamond Cream Bocciardato carries the veining from the benchtop up the wall, creating a cohesive high-end look.

The subtle variation in the marble adds movement and texture with under-cabinet lighting highlighting every detail. Ceramic offers the look of natural stone without the upkeep. It is stain-resistant, non-porous and built to last, making it perfect for a home where the kitchen is a place to cook, relax and gather.

After seeing these transformations it is clear how a well-chosen splashback can change not only the style but also the functionality of a kitchen. At DGW Glass & Stone we focus on finding the right material, finish and fit for each home, making sure every detail is just right.
